About Us
HydraKraken was founded in 2012 B.C. by Olivia Kuan and Viktor Skorikov with the purpose of providing competitively priced film related services to the masses as a way to move slightly closer to “making it” in the industry and as a segway into total world domination. Though they plan on expanding into other ventures, at the moment they, like the Pet Shop Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, or even Marx and Engels are a duet. This, though, is no challenge, as you will plainly see after reading the mostly not over-inflated and only semi-self-promoting bios below.
A note: Though this web page as whole appears to be light-hearted and somewhat humorous, we assure you that though we like our share of fun, ultimately we strive for exemplary service.
Viktor Skorikov.
Despite being totally awesome, Viktor does not really like talking about himself. All that is known of him is that he got an MFA in Broadcast Cinema from Art Center in Pasadena, and that he makes high end custom furniture in Oxnard. His numerous skills include skydiving, running a CNC machine, making crazy cool cat houses and being slower at go karting then his girlfriend.
His links: personal site, furniture, his laughable IMDB.
Olivia Kuan.
Olivia began her pursuits to become a cinematographer in her early years at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. The decision to move half-way across the country from Houston to a place without a single familiar face was the first plunge into the adventure of going into film. Her time at school occurred right as the eclipse of film began. Thus, her training and early experiences were entirely captured on celluloid.
After earning her degree, Olivia was forced to adapt to the multi-faceted world of HD. This diversity of formats has allowed her portfolio to encompass a range of works including narrative features, music videos, television pilots, commercials, and documentary style projects. Each venture is addressed anew with its own appropriate style, palette, and logistics.
Due to a love of warmth and vegetation, Olivia eventually announced to her cat “We are moving to Los Angeles!” and despite the change, Olivia was ultimately even more immersed in doing what she loves. In most recent news, Olivia has embarked on an enterprise along with a guy named Viktor and a camera called Alexa. HydraKraken is now the next step in her pursuit to enhance the work that can only be done for enjoyment.
